HELLO!

I’m Tahnee. Mother of three. Photographer. Dreamer. Creative. Colour lover. People watcher. Eternal optimist.

I grew up in a small country town where everyone knew everyone. I was super square and did almost everything by the book. I was a pretty good dancer for the best part of ten years. At 20 I moved to the other side of the world to work and travel. I was a tiny fish swimming in a giant pool of anonymity for the first time in my life. I loved it. I moved to the city when I returned, working with suits in big, shiny corporate towers. I met my husband and fast forward a couple of years, we made a tiny person and my entrance to motherhood was born. Two more babies followed and my days were spent at home, watching them grow.

The innocence and chaos of childhood is a perfect, magical storm. It’s a rollercoaster of emotion, watching little limbs grow longer and leaner, words coming faster and easier, the need for help slowly retiring. But the storm passes too quickly. Those years showed themselves as beautifully ordinary. I found myself documenting the monotony and purposely finding beauty. BORING, EXTRAORDINARY, EVERYDAY BEAUTY. And it's everywhere - as long as we open our eyes to see it.

People are incredibly fascinating. We write our stories everyday - a new page, everyday. People invite me into their homes and lives to document their stories;
I love it entirely.
